After 14 years with the Group and nearly ten years as President and CEO, Magnus Groth has decided to resign from his role as CEO and from the Board of Essity in 2025. The recruitment process for his successor has already begun. Groth has a one-year notice period, so he will continue to serve as President and CEO until a successor is appointed.
“Magnus has successfully listed Essity and has led it through a significant transformation over the past ten years, increasing profitability, growth, and innovation. Thanks to his leadership and dedication, Magnus has played an important role in creating Essity’s platform for continued profitable global expansion,” said Jan Gurander, Chairman of the Board.
“It has been very rewarding to serve as President and CEO since 2015, first for SCA and then for Essity, and I particularly value the collaboration with colleagues around the world,” said Groth. “Essity is now a global leader in hygiene and health, with strong brands and market positions, excellent employees, and a recognized sustainability agenda, reflected in profitable growth. After 14 years with the company and ten years as CEO, I believe this is the right time to start a new chapter for both myself and Essity.”
